In addition to it being the start of summer, it offers the perfect time to gather with friends and family for good food and fun times!<\/p>\n<p>With sparklers, fireworks, and barbeques being eternally present in most 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July celebrations, here are some safety tips to keep your holiday safe and your memories good ones!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Swimming safety<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nothing beats the beach or pool to cool off on a hot summer day. If there are people in your group who don\u2019t know how to swim\u00a0or aren\u2019t good swimmers, have a safety system in place!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep a watchful eye on everyone in the water.<\/li>\n<li>Teach children basic water safety tips.<\/li>\n<li>Keep children away from pool drains, pipes, and other openings.<\/li>\n<li>Have flotation devices near.<\/li>\n<li>Never leave children or unconfident swimmers alone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Grilling safety tips<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure your grill is well away from your home and deck railings, and out from under eaves or overhanging branches.<\/li>\n<li>Keep children and pets away from the grilling area.<\/li>\n<li>Never leave your grill unattended!<\/li>\n<li>Grill outdoors only.<\/li>\n<li>If you spot a leak, shut off the gas immediately.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Firework safety tips<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leave lighting them to the pros!<\/li>\n<li>Never use fireworks indoors (yes, people are <em>still <\/em>trying this!)<\/li>\n<li>Obey local laws.
