With the scorching hot temperatures of summer, it can be tempting to cool down in your front yard with your hose. While it may seem refreshing, it can also lead to wasting water. In the current drought that the area is experiencing, it is important to make sure that you follow all of the Las Vegas water laws to ensure you are doing you part to help save money. Keep these water restrictions in mind to make sure that you are doing your part to help save water.<\/p>\n

Landscape watering is completely prohibited in the hours of 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. from May 1st<\/sup> until October 1st<\/sup>.<\/li>\n
You are allowed to water with a handheld hose, or test your irrigation system with supervision at any time. You are also allowed to water a reseeded or new landscape daily for up to 30 days, once a year.<\/li>\n
New water restrictions also apply to drip irrigations. Many experts agree that running your drip irrigation less frequently can also help to benefit plants.<\/li>\n
You must follow your assigned watering groups. You will receive a water waste fee if you use irrigation on days other than the ones that you are assigned.<\/li>\n
Use the cycle and soak method of sprinkler watering on your assigned watering days to help keep your lawn healthy. This method requires you to water in three different 4 minute cycles. If you are using pop up sprinklers, wait an hour between each cycle. If you are using rotating sprinkler heads, wait about 12 minutes between each cycle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
