Does your house look occupied while your traveling?

Given a choice, most burglars prefer an empty house to victimize rather than a home that is occupied. Burglars and thieves are risk averse, and a home that has people inside is a riskier place to steal from. When you are going to be away from your home for a trip, it is a good idea to follow some of these tips to fool criminals into thinking you are home.

  1. Never indicate on social media such as Facebook, or Twitter that you are planning to be away. Save posting of photographs and comments until you get back. Social media is a great resource for criminals. Warn your kids not to post either and to hold off posting anything about their time away until they return.
  2. Discontinue newspaper and mail delivery. Nothing says “On vacation” more than a pile of newspapers on the front porch or stacked against the front door. Although neighbors might be willing to take and hold your mail, it is safer to have the post office do it. That reduces the chance of someone forgetting.
  3. Place lights on timers and set them to go on and off close to your normal schedule. If possible consider putting a television on a timer – noise is anathema to a burglar.

These simple tips give your home an occupied look while you are away and help to have a burglar look elsewhere to break-in. Of course, if you have an alarm, use it.

In case you are victimized, make sure your homeowners insurance or renters insurance is up-to-date. All Nevada Insurance, located in Las Vegas can assess your coverage and offers a free quote. Call us now.

Are you Familiar with the Different Types of Life Insurance?

When you are looking for ways to protect your family financially, life insurance plays a key role in providing peace of mind. The problem you may face is identifying the type that is most appropriate for your needs and budget.

Group Insurance

Before you look for any personal coverage, consider the possibility that your employer may offer group insurance options. This type of coverage is designed for large companies and usually has a reasonable price.

Short Term Coverage

If you need individual coverage, then it might be best to consider a short term option. Term life insurance has a set time period that you are covered and it expires at the end of the term. It is an affordable option if you have a strict budget.

Long Term Option

The smart solution if you are worried about the needs of your family is a long-term whole life policy. Whole life is designed to carry forward for a long period of time. In fact, it offers coverage for your lifetime.

Finding the right insurance plan may seem simple, but it is best to consider the variety of options before you finalize your selection. To learn more about insurance options in Las Vegas, contact All Nevada Insurance.

Are you heading to the lake soon? Make sure your boat has proper coverage!

It’s lake season, and that means watercrafts and speedboats are going to be out and about. They can be a lot of fun in the summer months. But whether you’re into boats or you just want to take the Seadoos out for a little spin, you need to make sure you’ve got the proper insurance coverage. If you don’t have the right policy, a simple little mishap on or near the water could turn into a real financial and legal nightmare. You don’t want something like that to mar your enjoyment of the beautiful summer weather.

Fortunately, it’s not hard to avoid these kinds of risks. You can’t always control whether you’ll have an accident or other problem that results in a claim to your insurance company. But you can control what kind of insurance you have. By talking with your agent and working to get just the right amount of coverage, you’ll be able to have the peace of mind you need to relax and have a great time on the water with your family and friends.
