Workers Compensation 101

If you run a business and have employees, it’s important to buy workers comp insurance that will cover injuries that your employee might sustain at work. Depending on where you live, there may be restrictions on where you are able to get that insurance. Some states pull policies from a state fund that is commonly looked at as a monopoly. Other states work solely with private insurance companies. A handful offer businesses a choice between a state offered policy and private insurance. With so many variances, you practically need to attend a Workers Comp 101 course in order to have the knowledge you need to cover your business.

In Nevada, the situation is even more confusing. Until recently, Nevada was a monopoly state, which meant the state took care of everything associated with the Workers Compensation policy. But now, Nevada businesses can find workers comp policies by comparing private policies, which means you have a decision to make. At All Nevada Insurance, we’re here to help you make an informed one.

As a broker for home, auto, commercial, health and life insurance All Nevada Insurance is able to generate quotes from a variety of insurance companies throughout Nevada, as well as California, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, and New York, and we maintain the knowledge needed to help you determine everything that is required from a workers comp policy, and everything that is recommended. With the numbers in front of you, the choice is in your hands. Contact All Nevada Insurance in Las Vegas today to learn more,

Looking for a BBQ recipe?

Barbecue season is well under way. If you’re looking for an exciting and healthy recipe to impress your friends or family at your next BBQ, try one of the following ideas.

Pork Kabobs

Alternate slices of marinated pork with your favorite summer veggies on a skewer. Zucchini, eggplant, and peppers are just a few of the many possibilities. Cook on a pre-heated grill for about 4 minutes per side. (Substitute chicken, shrimp or turkey for the pork.)

Grilled Sausage Pasta Salad

Prepare one pound of pasta according to package directions. Slice one bell pepper, one medium zucchini and one red onion. Place in a grilling basket on a preheated BBQ with one pound of turkey sausage (hot or sweet), When done, cut veggies and sausage into bite sized pieces and add to pasta. Mix together 5 tablespoons of olive oil with 6 tablespoons of balsamic or red wine vinegar and blend well. Pour dressing over pasta and toss to coat thoroughly. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Check Your RV Insurance Before Your First Trip

If you have invested in an RV of any kind for family vacations, don’t leave it uninsured. RV insurance is needed even if you already have auto insurance to cover your other vehicles. Without a comprehensive plan, you could end up spending a lot of money just to keep the RV on the road.

Check on your deductible for the year before setting out on a road trip. High deductibles are fine when you are driving a brand new RV, but a lower deductible policy may work better for older vehicles. Don’t be afraid to negotiate for a lower rate if you recently took extra training to develop better skills at handling large vehicles. Defensive driving courses are always helpful.

Watch out for loopholes that keep entire systems from being covered by the policy. Even the most full coverage options often fail to pay for repairs to the A/C unit, blackwater system, or furniture inside the unit. Good policies can be tailored to cover anything you want. If you are unhappy with how much you are spending to insure your fifth wheel or camper, consider discussing your options with All Nevada Insurance.

Does your house look occupied while your traveling?

Given a choice, most burglars prefer an empty house to victimize rather than a home that is occupied. Burglars and thieves are risk averse, and a home that has people inside is a riskier place to steal from. When you are going to be away from your home for a trip, it is a good idea to follow some of these tips to fool criminals into thinking you are home.

  1. Never indicate on social media such as Facebook, or Twitter that you are planning to be away. Save posting of photographs and comments until you get back. Social media is a great resource for criminals. Warn your kids not to post either and to hold off posting anything about their time away until they return.
  2. Discontinue newspaper and mail delivery. Nothing says “On vacation” more than a pile of newspapers on the front porch or stacked against the front door. Although neighbors might be willing to take and hold your mail, it is safer to have the post office do it. That reduces the chance of someone forgetting.
  3. Place lights on timers and set them to go on and off close to your normal schedule. If possible consider putting a television on a timer – noise is anathema to a burglar.

These simple tips give your home an occupied look while you are away and help to have a burglar look elsewhere to break-in. Of course, if you have an alarm, use it.

In case you are victimized, make sure your homeowners insurance or renters insurance is up-to-date. All Nevada Insurance, located in Las Vegas can assess your coverage and offers a free quote. Call us now.

Are you Familiar with the Different Types of Life Insurance?

When you are looking for ways to protect your family financially, life insurance plays a key role in providing peace of mind. The problem you may face is identifying the type that is most appropriate for your needs and budget.

Group Insurance

Before you look for any personal coverage, consider the possibility that your employer may offer group insurance options. This type of coverage is designed for large companies and usually has a reasonable price.

Short Term Coverage

If you need individual coverage, then it might be best to consider a short term option. Term life insurance has a set time period that you are covered and it expires at the end of the term. It is an affordable option if you have a strict budget.

Long Term Option

The smart solution if you are worried about the needs of your family is a long-term whole life policy. Whole life is designed to carry forward for a long period of time. In fact, it offers coverage for your lifetime.

Finding the right insurance plan may seem simple, but it is best to consider the variety of options before you finalize your selection. To learn more about insurance options in Las Vegas, contact All Nevada Insurance.

Are you heading to the lake soon? Make sure your boat has proper coverage!

It’s lake season, and that means watercrafts and speedboats are going to be out and about. They can be a lot of fun in the summer months. But whether you’re into boats or you just want to take the Seadoos out for a little spin, you need to make sure you’ve got the proper insurance coverage. If you don’t have the right policy, a simple little mishap on or near the water could turn into a real financial and legal nightmare. You don’t want something like that to mar your enjoyment of the beautiful summer weather.

Fortunately, it’s not hard to avoid these kinds of risks. You can’t always control whether you’ll have an accident or other problem that results in a claim to your insurance company. But you can control what kind of insurance you have. By talking with your agent and working to get just the right amount of coverage, you’ll be able to have the peace of mind you need to relax and have a great time on the water with your family and friends.
